CHOCOLATE Milk Essay by Alejandro ,michigan

Imagine you were thirsty and you are watching a comercial. It is about chocolate milk and convinced you to go to the groceries. Before you pay for it, you read the nutrition label. I think that schools should not serve chocolate milk because it has more sugar than soda, because kids drink it a lot, and because it is not healthy.
One reason schools should not serve chocolate milk is that it has more sugar than soda. For example, flavored milk can contain a lot of added sugar. In the text it states,” Flavored milk can contain up to 30 grams of sugar.” In result, kids are getting two gallons of added sugar each year by drinking flavored milk.

Another reason schools should not serve chocolate milk is that kids drink it a lot. Flavored milk has a lot of sugar. If kids drink it too much, their health worsens. Also in the text it states,” Children consume as many as 10 or 15 cartons of chocolate milk.” Also, sugar can give children cavities and cholestherol can make children have diabetes.

Another reason schools should not serve chocolate milk is that it is not healthy. Both soda and chocolate milk contain too much sugar. It is bad for their health. In the text it states,” National Medical Association argues that the nutritional value of skim milk outweighs the harm of added sugar.”

Others may argue that it has the nine essential nutrients, but I argue that it has more sugar that soda. It has too much sugar for a child.  Even though chocolate milk has vitamins, it still has more sugar than white milk. Should we avoid chocolate milk?
