Ban Chocolate Milk? By Mariana Sanabria–CU

Dear Denver Public Schools,

Imagine a world where you’ll have to go to the gym everyday to lose all the sugar caused by chocolate milk. I believe we should ban chocolate milk from schools, for it is unhealthy.

First of all, chocolate milk has more sugar than a can of soda! In an article it states,” One tiny carton of chocolate milk has approxiamately 30 grams of sugar. That is more than a can of soda.” This shows that basically soda is healthier than chocolate milk.

Second of all, it can lead to really bad sickness. In an article it states,” But in the long term cholesteral and saturated fat can lead to heart disease and cancer.” This quote is important, for this are two examples of sickness that is caused by chocolate milk.

Lastly, when milk comes out of yhe cow it is freas, but when people add the chocolately flavor it ruins all the nutrients and vitamins that plain milk has. In another article it states,” Plain milk also contains vitamins children need such as vitamin D.” THis shows that plain milk has more nutrients just how it is.

Therefore, we should ban chocolate milk from schools, for it is unhealthy. Now would you want to be drinking something that is more unhealthy than soda? You might be disagreeing with me, buy now thst your young you are saying that you hate going to school because of gym class. Think about it when you drink chocolate milk when your older you will have to live through your nightmare again, for you will have to go  to the gym to lose all that fat.

Sincerely a student at STRIVE prep,

                                                                    Mariana Sanabria
